Piotr Jakubowski urodził się w Dżakarcie we wrześniu 1986 roku i przez 17 lat swego życia rósł i kszałtował swój charakter w trzyjęzycznym i dwukulturowym środowisku. Zafascynowany fotografią na lekcjach w Międzynarodowej Szkole w Dżakarcie, zaczął fotografować starą używaną lustrzanką, a dopiero po latach zainteresował się fotografią cyfrową. Z pomocą opcji macro w swoim aparacie, Piotr rozpoczął robienie zdjęć macro, co w końcu stało się jego pasją. Jednak obecnie jest on również zafascynowany tym ile fotografia potrafi opowiedzieć o ludzkim losie. Portrety Indonezyjczyków, a szczególnie dzieci, ukazują wyraźnie jego przywiązanie do miejsca gdzie się urodził i wychował. Aktualnie Piotr jest studentem Drake University w Des Moines, Iowa, USA, gdzie studiuje Marketing i Reklamę.
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, in September 1986, Piotr Jakubowski spent 17 years of his life in Jakarta, growing up trilingual and bicultural. Intrigued by photography after taking a course at the Jakarta International School, he started out with film photography and a second hand camera, followed by digital photography. With help from the super-macro feature in his camera, Piotr became addicted to taking macro photographs, initially his favorite type. However, he is also passionate about the human story a photograph can reveal, and is currently intrigued by human interest photography. Piotr is attending Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, studying Marketing and Advertising.

Sejak dilahirkan di Jakarta, 19 tahun yang lalu, pada September 1986, Piotr Jakubowski dibesarkan dalam kehidupan berdua budaya dan tiga bahasa. Terkesima dengan pelajaran yang didapat dari kelas fotografi yang diambilnya di Jakarta International School, Piotr mulai menekuni fotografi film dengan sebuah kamera bekas sebelum kemudian memanfaatkan kecanggihan kamera digital. Dengan bantuan super-macro feature kameranya, Piotr menjadi sangat menggemari memotret obyek-obyek macro, obyek favoritnya. Akan tetapi, lambat laun Piotr mulai mencintai jenis foto yang menampakkan kisah-kisah manusia yang menjadi obyek fotonya, dan akhir-akhir ini amat tergugah oleh fotografi yang mengupas manusia dan sisi-sisi kemanusiannya. Saat ini Piotr tengah mendalami Marketing & Advertising (pemasaran dan periklanan) di Universitas Drake di Des Moines, Iowa, Amerika Utara.
